In 1971 she became a pioneer in girls sports by becoming the first coach of the girls bowling team.

In 1974 the girls bowling team placed third in the NJSIAA Bowling Tournament.  In 1975 her team placed second in the Jersey Shore Coaches Tournament and then capped the season by winning the NJSIAA State Championship.

In 1976 and 1977 Coach Brooke’s bowling team placed first in the Shore Conference Tournament, and in 1977 her team once again placed third in the State Championship Tournament.

In 1978 the girls bowling team had an extraordinarily successful year, winning the Shore Conference Tournament, the State Sectionals, and the second State Championship for the girls program in three years.

Mrs. Brooke also coached the boys varsity golf team in 1978.

At the time of her induction into the Hall of Fame in the fall of 2001, Pat Brooke remained the only JMHS coach to lead her team to two State Championships.
